Horos is present in 160 countries around the world. It affects the professional lives of countless physicians in a variety of specialties, educators, students, and IT professionals. ## Meet Edgardo Cruz

Edgardo Cruz is the IT Manager over at [Synergy, a Chilean company](http://www.synergy.cl/home/) providing technological services to consumers in Chile. Cruz has been using Horos for about two years now. Previously he and the company were both using the “lite” version of a separate platform. However, once the [open source code](https://blog.horosproject.org/does-open-source-mean-that-version-you-just-downloaded-is-authentic) began to get pulled, so did the free features that were necessary for medical professionals to make a diagnosis. This transition is how Cruz became a Horos evangelist. Today, Horos is used as an [add on for DCM4CHEE PACS](https://blog.horosproject.org/can-i-connect-horos-to-the-cloud). It [enables DICOM](https://blog.horosproject.org/what-exactly-is-dicom) processes and web access for customer sites. For the most part, Cruz and Synergy work with MRIs, CTs, X-Rays, and Ultrasounds.
